SEPTEMBER 26- ARCE

Day 6 – 33 miles, a lot of up hill, especially the last little bit before our pension which was about an 18% incline. Very rainy.  Our clothes my never dry. Right outside of Escalante, we had to stop to let cows go by. An interesting encounter. It was nice to get off bigger roads and more on the actual Camino route. We saw lots of walking pilgrims and some cycling pilgrims on electric bikes. Wishing for electric on the steep inclines. We made sure to stop to eat in Arce before we got to our pension as it is a beautiful cottage out on a country road. Looks like the rain will continue for the rest of our 5 cycling days. It’s fall here and just lovely. Has definitely cooled off.

Tomorrow a much shorter day to Santillana Del Mar..

Drying off and warming up in Padrena

It’s Monday and most restaurants are closed so our host took took us to this truck stop. As far as truck stop food….. pretty darn good. We ate with another really nice pilgrim couple from Denver.
