OCTOBER 29- MADRID

Another beautiful day exploring Madrid.  Today we walked to a huge park, Parque de el Retiro and enjoyed the monuments, the Palacio de Cristal and people watching. There were runners, walkers, people on roller blades and multiple yoga classes and people in row boats on the little lake. We stopped afterwards at the San Ildefonso Market for a delicious lunch and then visited Madrid’s Plaza de Espana, where we found a statue of Don Quixote and his sidekick, Sancho Panza, at the monument of Miguel de Cervantes.

The time changes back to standard time in Spain tonight so we get an extra hour of sleep.  We are going to need it because we are headed to El Rastro in the morning. This is Madrid’s famous huge Sunday open air market.

“Give me back my pants”!
