We arrived by train to Toledo today and we love it! We are in the old city within the city walls. It feels like a small town. Anthony has roots here from the 1500s when the Alvarez del Castillo family made their way to America and settled in New Mexico in the early 1600s. The original building of the hotel we are staying in was built in 1450 so it is likely that his ancestors walked the same streets as we walked today. We toured the cathedral which is one of the most beautiful we have seen since being here in Spain. We have another rooftop terrace with a view of the cathedral. We had a nice bottle of wine and some meat and manchego cheese (locally made) and enjoyed the view. We also discovered that another Camino route, Camino de Levante passes through Toledo and we walked part of that one too.
