It was great to sleep a little later this morning and not have to pack up and go. We spent the day exploring Santiago and the cathedral. We went to confession and then to the pilgrims Mass at noon and again were treated to the botafumeiro. It was a special Mass to honor Blessed Jose Gregorio from Venezuela with the cardinal from Venezuela celebrating the Mass. The video below is a little long but we had such a great vantage point to see the whole thing. It’s pretty amazing. We also visited the Pilgrim Museum. Tomorrow we say goodbye to our Camino chapter and head to Portugal.

Hooray for sleeping in, calzones, and crêpes! Excited to see what Portugal has in store for you.
That’s quite a “burrito” you’re having!
The Botafumeiro is incredible! I understand that one may be the last one in operation.
I read it was installed in 1604. It’s only used for special occasions. A rare occurrence!
Enjoy the rest of your pilgrimage/tour.
Keep praying for me. Thank you for for the blog! I’ll keep checking it.
