A nice relatively flat walk today of about 12 miles to O Pino, also called Pedrouzo or Arce. It is interesting how many towns in Spain have multiple names. The forecast was for rain all day so we were ready with rain gear. However, the sun even came out for a bit and we only had a light mist of rain as were were almost to our pension. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the same luck for tomorrow. We walked among many many other pilgrims today. Much of the path was along or near the highway and through small villages. So many great bars and cafes to stop for coffee. One was made out of bottles. We talked today about how even walking every day for many hours, one does not get bored. Always something new to discover. We have certainly learned a lot about plants and trees. We finally were able to see what was inside one of those horreo de carnitas. I guess they are used for drying corn. Our beautiful pension is located just before O Pino right on the Camino and we have been watching pilgrims pass by.
Early dinner at 7 pm tonight and 7 am breakfast tomorrow. We hope to get going by 7:30 am tomorrow for our final walking day to our long awaited destination – Santiago de Compostela!
Hooray! The last day. Congrats!
