Not sure when 10 miles started to be considered a short little walk?! But today that is exactly what it felt like. We left before daylight as we were expecting rain and, thankfully, we beat the rain to Arzúa. Many more pilgrims on the path today but it was relatively quiet. We noticed that there are many more rest places and services now than when we were on the Primitivo. We brought a sandwich with us just in case but ended up having a picnic on the bed in our pension with a couple of beers. Today we passed by a place where pilgrims were camped overnight. I think this is more common on the Camino Frances. Definitely fall here. The days are much cooler and the leaves are changing and falling. Arzúa is known for a special creamy cheese and there is a statue in the town square of a cheese maker. Maybe we will have some cheese at dinner! It’s a pretty town full of pilgrims. Only 26 miles to go!
I’ve just read all the previous posts. They are amazing with beautiful photos. Buen Camino for your few days left to Santiago. Arriving is always bittersweet.
Beautiful photos! You are almost there! I haven’t kept up with your blog, but will go back and read!
